9/18/24 - West Anniston Free Fishing Clinic
We will be having an afternoon clinic 9/18 4:30pm-6:3opm at Lake Yahou in West Anniston, AL! Kids (ages 5-18) will learn special skills like knot tying, fish identification, safe fish handling, casting, and so much more!
9/28/24 - Remains of Hart's Ferry Volunteer Clean-up
Join Coosa Riverkeeper staff, River Rats, and volunteers for a clean-up at Remains of Hart’s Ferry Park & Boat Ramp in Ohatchee, AL! Everyone will get to enjoy coffee and donuts as we keep the Coosa clean 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM! More information & sign up coming soon!
10/11-13/24 - Southern One Fly
Southern One Fly is a beginner friendly, fly fishing tournament hosted by Deep South Outfitters & Coosa Riverkeeper, with a unique One Fly twist on the tournament. This three-day event will be based at the Coosa Outdoor Center in Wetumpka with camping, a low-country boil, and music along the tail-waters of the Coosa. Even if you don’t fly fish, we hope you will join us in beautiful Wetumpka, AL for a weekend of good vibes in the Southern Coosa Valley!

Lovelight Farm Chili Cookoff Benefitting Coosa Riverkeeper
Celebrate Clean Water at Lovelight Farm’s Chili Cook-Off on November 9, 2024!
Cook up your favorite pot of chili and bring it on over to Lovelight Farm, a local certified naturally grown farm in Wilsonville, AL!
Bring your family and friends to come listen to live music from Little Raine Band plays The Dead, tour Lovelight Farm, and eat a variety of chili on November 9 from 3-8pm – all for Clean Water & benefitting Coosa Riverkeeper! There will be 4 chili winners:
- Best Over All
- Best Heat
- Best Meat
- Best Veggie
Tickets include: bringing a pot of chili (just let us know if you plan to do this), eating chili, enjoying live music by Little Raine Band, going on farm tours, and more!
Be sure to bring chairs, blankets, and BYOB!
11/11/24 - C.R.E.E.K. S.T.R.E.A.M.
This workshop will allow kids K-12 to dive into potential hazards of swimming in the Coosa, all while learning about E. coli in the Coosa River and basic safe swimming practices. Children will have the opportunity to step into a scientists’ shoes, defeat bacteria with science, & more through hands-on STEM learning.
